Wine, complex and rich in history, is an essential part of the experience at Vasiliki.Vasiliki Kantina & Gastronomia was born from Vasiliki’s desire to create a space dedicated to the excellence of Greek wine and the Hellenic gastronomic tradition. With this new opening, the offering expands and completes the culinary journey into the Hellenic world, begun in 2016 with Vasiliki Kouzina.
Choosing a Greek grape variety means embracing a fragment of millennia-old history and culture. It is an act of knowledge and respect toward a tradition that still has much to tell. The selection includes around 152 labels from across the Hellenic territory: Santorini, the Peloponnese, Crete, Rhodes, and Attica. On this oenological journey, guests are guided by Loredana Lo Coco, the wine bar’s expert sommelier, who introduces the public to the distinctive characteristics of Greek grape varieties, supervised by Perry Panagiotakopoulos, Wine Kiosk.
Alongside the wine selection, the menu—created by chef Gikas Xenakis and brought to the table by resident chef Attilio Marzo—celebrates Greek tradition through a variety of mezes, small shared plates that combine the taste of authenticity with the convivial atmosphere so typical of Greece.
Vasiliki Kantina & Gastronomia also offers an area dedicated to Greek gastronomy for takeaway, where guests can purchase traditional homemade dishes such as tray-baked moussaka, traditional savory pies, and a selection of artisanal sauces, including taramas (fish roe dip), tzatziki, and tyrokafteri (a spicy spread of feta and Greek yogurt).

Identity
With the opening of Vasiliki Kantina & Gastronomia, the world of Vasiliki evolves and renews itself, finding a balance between past and future. To unify the two souls of the brand – Vasiliki Kouzina and Vasiliki Kantina – a new visual identity has been developed, curated by Studio Vedèt, blending contemporary elegance with references to classical Greece. The serif logo and monogram draw inspiration from Hellenic architectural forms, while the bright color palette reflects the dialogue between tradition and innovation. The rebranding extends to every detail, from menus to packaging, creating an immersive experience consistent with the brand’s philosophy.
But the journey does not end here: soon a line of products under the “Vasiliki” name will be launched, bringing the essence of Greek gastronomy beyond the restaurant’s walls. Honey, olive oil, and other carefully selected delicacies will be available for purchase in Italy and abroad, allowing everyone to take home a piece of authentic Greece. A project that further strengthens the bond between Vasiliki and its homeland, transforming the brand into a true experience to be lived, savored, and shared.

Interior Design
For the design of Vasiliki Kantina & Gastronomia, Vasiliki Pierrakea entrusted the talented interior designer Joy Herro, with the aim of creating a fluid and essential environment, free from any overbearing style. The idea was to give space to authentic elements, allowing Greek culture to emerge without overpowering it. Joy designed the Kantina with clarity, elegance, and meticulous attention to detail, creating a space that breathes truth, light, and the tactile beauty of the Hellenic world.
Adding to this contemporary narrative are the magical works of Terpsichore Savvala. She envisioned the myth that binds the space together, pouring her passion and soul into the ceiling she painted: the story of Persephone and Demeter, which encompasses the entire human journey, from birth to death. The first room’s ceiling represents spring, with Persephone and Demeter together and nature in celebration; further inside, the second space evokes winter, separation, power, and sexuality, altering the visitor’s experience as they move through it. A symbol of the bond between earth and tradition, perfectly aligned with Vasiliki’s philosophy. Her ceramics and vision brought depth and meaning, transforming the space into a mythological landscape.
The restaurant is divided into two distinct areas. The first room is dominated by an open kitchen with a large steel counter, designed to evoke the atmosphere of a contemporary gastronomic laboratory. The goal was to create an immersive experience in which guests could perceive Greek cuisine in its authenticity, from raw ingredients to the final dish. Into this dialogue enters the work of Tino Seubert, whose furnishings have shaped an environment that is at once rigorous and welcoming. Brushed aluminum structures and natural raffia seating surround the large steel counter of the open kitchen, creating a space that combines strength, precision, and the warmth of natural materials. Like the wines selected by Vasiliki, it preserves memories, gestures, and stories.
The second room, more intimate, is enriched by a library featuring a selection of wines personally chosen by Vasiliki from young Greek producers. Through their labels, these wines hold memories, gestures, and stories, revealing another authentic aspect of Greece. The overall project, guided by the artistic direction of Joy Herro, unites the two rooms into a coherent and harmonious journey, leading guests through a unique experience that connects the spaces and the stories they tell.
And it is true: the thread of the world is held by love!
